Show questions only when they apply (conditional fields)
Keep your form short by revealing a question only when it's relevant - based on an earlier answer, the attendee's age, or the ticket, add-on, or session they chose.
A long form scares people off. With conditional fields you only ask a follow-up when it actually applies, so most attendees see a short form and only the relevant few get the extra questions.
How a condition works
Every field is either always shown (the default) or shown only when a rule is true. You pick what the rule watches and the value it looks for, and Regify reveals or hides the field live as the attendee fills out the form.
What a field can depend on
A field can appear based on any one of these:
- Another field's answer - show "List your allergies" only when "Any allergies?" is Yes. You can match one value or any of several.
- The attendee's age - show a guardian-consent field only for attendees under 18, worked out from their date of birth.
- The ticket they chose - ask a question only of VIP ticket holders.
- A product or add-on they bought - ask t-shirt size only if they added the shirt.
- A session they picked - collect a prerequisite only for the advanced workshop.
Set one up
- Open your event and go to the Fields tab.
- Add or edit the field you want to show conditionally.
- Turn on its condition and choose what it depends on - a field, age, ticket, product, or session.
- Set the value to match: for age, a min and max; for a field, the answer (or answers) that reveal it. Then save.
Order matters for field-based rules: put the controlling question above the field that depends on it. And a hidden field is never required, so nobody gets stuck on a question they can't see.
